About

The Loudoun Literacy Council is a community-based, nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to improving literacy throughout Loudoun County. We recruit and train volunteers to teach adults, both native-speakers and speakers of other languages, to read, speak, write and understand English. For children, we provide early literacy enrichment for at-risk preschool children and children who reside in our local homeless shelters, while supporting their parents as their child’s first teacher. Our classes and programs are available to all who reside or work in Loudoun County. For more information:
  • see our About Us page on our main website
  • call the office at 703-777-2205

About this blog We created the Loudoun Literacy blog to connect more easily with our volunteers and the public. Here you can:
  • get a first-hand perspective of what it's like to work with us
  • ask questions about class or tutor matters
  • find resources for teaching
  • learn about LLC opportunities and events faster and easier
  • interact with your peers... and more!
Take a look around and tell us what you think.
